M\u00e4rz lud der den Lesern des Morgenblatts schon bekannte <i>Carrer<\/i> einen auserlesenen Zirkel zu einem Trauerspiel aus dem Stegreife ein, und lie\u00df das Loos \u00fcber mehrere ihm gegebene Aufgaben entscheiden. Es traf den <i>Polynices<\/i>, dessen Bearbeitung dem jungen Dichter um so schwerer vorkommen musste, weil er diesem von <i>Alfieri<\/i> behandelten Gegenstande erst eine neue Seite abzugewinnen hatte, und wusste, da\u00df dem gr\u00f6\u00dftentheile seiner Zuh\u00f6rer das treffliche St\u00fcck des gro\u00dfen Tragikers gegenw\u00e4rtig war.
