Sie ist K\u00fcnstlerin und Dichterin und zwar Dichterin aus dem Stegreife. (Giebt es doch im Deutschen, so fremd ist uns jetzo die Sache, keinen anderen Ausdruck als diese seltsame Umschreibung f\u00fcr Improvisatrice.) Dieses Talent wird in Italien, mitten unter dem Verfall der Litteratur, noch immer h\u00e4ufig gepflegt; freilich mit verschiedenem Gl\u00fcck und in mannichfaltigen Abstufungen der W\u00fcrde und des inneren Werthes. Wir hat- [190] ten Gelegenheit manche Proben davon zu h\u00f6ren, die durch Anmuth des Ausdrucks, F\u00fclle der Bilder und Leichtigkeit der Wendungen erfreulich waren, ja durch unglaubliche Meisterschaft in den schwierigsten Silbenma\u00dfen und durch schnelle Erfindsamkeit in Erstaunen setzten. Geht man nun hievon aus, um sich eine Vorstellung von ehemaligen ber\u00fchmteren Improvisatoren zu machen, so entsteht allerdings ein hoher Begriff von dieser Kunst m\u00f6glichen Vollkommenheit. Nicht selten \u00fcbten auch M\u00e4nner, die in anderen K\u00fcnsten das H\u00f6chste leisteten, diese als Liebhaber, wie Vasari von Leonardo da Vinci sagt, <i>cantava divinamente all\u2019 improviso<\/i>.
