Text:

There is a species of composition familiar to the Provençal poets, called Tenzon, in which a question of manners or morals is debated between two interlocutors; and it appears that in general they were by no means the fiction of a single poet, but were really dialogues in verse maintained with all the vehemence of improvisation.
